24th of September 2010

Today in Social Sciences Paqui has returned the maps of America. Later we have played some games about South and Central America. In one game we needed to locate a country in a map. In another game we had to say the name of a country knowing its capital city and in the last game we needed to say the capital city knowing the country. After we have played password about America. In some letters Paqui has included European countries because it is very difficult to have one country for each letter. Later we have started to see unit one´s PowerPoint presentation. This unit we are going to do a project work about the physical geography of the continents and word climates. The people who work hard and take the project seriously, won´t have to pass an exam. But the lazy people will have to do it.

This is unit one´s PowerPoint presentation.

Very good journal!! I've got one question. It's correct to say "Paqui has returned the maps of America".

Hi! I also think that is a good journal! Congratulation Angel!
One thing... I don't know but... Don't we seen a power point?
Bye, a good weekend!

Hello Ángel,
Very nice journal entry! I like that you included the power point.

Javi, you are right. You can say "Paqui has returned the maps of America." OR you can also use the phrasal verb "to give back", like Ángel did. The meaning is the same.

The mistake Ángel made is that he wanted to use Present Perfect to say, "Paqui has given back...", but instead of using the past participle "given" (3rd column) he used the bare infinitive "give".

Also Ángel, it's better to use the verb "to locate", rather than "to localize".

Good job.

Sorry Kelly, that phrase was a question, I forget to write the sign. Angel wrote "Paqui has returned the maps of America" but he corrected it.
Bye!

Very good, Ángel. I see that you haven´t had problems to upload the powerpoint.

Good contributions, Ana and Javi too.

It would be good if the students watched the powerpoint and tried to remember the names of all the landforms and bodies of water. We studied this in 1º and I imagine you can remember almost all of them.

Have you all a nice weekend!

Paqui

Hi!
We are Yolanda Rubio and Laura.
In that class, we bringt our chairs next to the first tables, because we couldn't listen in our places.
Yolanda: I participated in one of the games of the maps. I had to locate some countries.
Laura: I also participated in a game, but in my case, it was in the password.
See you on Monday! :)

Hello girls (Mª Luz, Yolanda R and Laura)!

As Mª Luz has said, in the new unit you will have to do a project work about the physical geography of the continents and world climates. The people who work hard and take the project seriously, wo´t have to pass an exam. But the lazy people will have to do it. So it depends on you!

Yolanda and Laura, your participation in the last lesson was quite good. In my opinion you should sit nearer, because there is a lot of noise at the back of the classroom and you get easily distracted, but you decide.

Yolanda, thanks to remind me about the exam of the maps. It will be very easy. You have a lot of games to review it and to study this exam will be very amusing ;)

See you tomorrow!
