Today, Paqui  has collected the maps of  Europe, Spain, Asia, America and then she has given us the maps of Africa and Oceania that we had given her the other day. Some people have to do an exam on Wednesday about Oceania and Africa, because they haven´t done the maps well.
Then we have checked exercise 2 of the book about  reliefs and continents. And she has said that Captain James Cook was a navigator that discovered Oceania.
Lather we have started with unit 2. This unit is about Economic organization of Societies. While she was explaining the unit, she was asking us questions about the unit and she has  said that this unit will be very interesting.
Then she has given us a definition of  economy: Economy is the science that studies the activies that human beings develop to fulfil their necessities.
There are two grups of economic activities:
- Activities consisting in producing goods.
- Activities consisting in rendering services.
At the end of the class Cristina Blanco has come to our class and we have seen a powerpoint that Angel had prepared for her.
And finally Paqui has given us for homework to read points 1 and 2 of page 22.

Andrea the journal is good but there´re some mistakes in the verbs because some of them are in the present and you´re talking about the past. Correct this.
And at the end of the lesson Cristina has came to visit to us after months!! jeje We have seen a power point with her about photografs of her with us in London, Gerona... In a week we will have one bilingüe more!!
Bye

Hello Andrea,

Pay attention to some words: How do you say "Octubre" in English? I think you have written it in Romanian. Mónica made the same mistake.

Remember also that "to pick" means to collect small things. It is better to say "collect".

There are also some speling mistakes: How do you say "miércoles" and "corregir"?

As Rebeca said, you have to be very careful with the verb tenses. The majority of them have to be in the Present Perfect and in third person. You have to review this.

In the two types of economic activities you have to add: activities consisting in producing goods and activities consisting in rendering services.

Your summary of the lesson is very complete. I´m going to include a question for all the students:
What new words and concepts related to economy did we learn yesterday?

I´m looking forward to your answers.

The words and concepts that we learnt are economy, market, capitalism, demand and supply (inflation and deflation)and we also spoke about the time banks, as you have written in the last post.
I don't remember if we learnt any more concepts... Can anyone help me?
Thank you!

You can review your glossary. There is one that is a hot subject right now. "Hot subject" means that is a very common subject for many people nowadays. Another one is an object we use to save money.

Thanks for answering my questions. This way I can realize that there is someone who reads on the other side of the screen ;)

Yes!!I've found both of these words!
The first is mortage, and the second is piggy bank!
You are welcome. I like answering you, because on this way, I review what we have seen in class.
See you!

Yes, Andrea. Now it´s perfect! Next time, remember to pay attention to the verbs (present perfect, please). I hope you prepare a good summary about Halloween for the other blog. Bye!

Very good again, Laura! Mortgages are one of the main worries of many families at present and one of the reasons of the financial crisis we are suffering. Many people can´t pay the loans back to the banks and they are losing their houses.

I think everybody should have a piggy bank to learn to save money and that the material things you want to buy are worth the effort.

See you tomorrow
